Is It for You?
This machine would fit to just about anyone. Whether you’re a beginner or a serious runner, the Silver Select has something to offer you. However, compared to other quality treadmills in its price range, this treadmill weighs a bit lighter. So if you want a treadmill with a more solid feel, this machine isn’t for you. May I suggest another great mid-priced treadmill, the Smooth 7.1HR.
Features and Benefits
The 3.0 HP continuous duty McMillan motor offers you power which are mostly found on treadmills above $2,000. This motor has a speed range of 0.5 to 11 mph and an incline range of 0% to 15%, adjustable in 0.5% increments. Thus, allowing for more intense workouts.
Pacemaster used a 2 ply stretch resistant Texglide tread belt for this machine, which is rated for 10,000 miles. Ensuring a maintenance free, high quality belt for a very long time.
The 20' x 54' running space gives you enough room to move and be comfortable during your exercise. At the same time, the deck is made up of custom designed, medium density fiberboard with phenolic surface. (Phenolic helps keep the deck lubricated to extends its life)
The Tri-Flex Impact Shock Management System gives PaceMaster Silver Select treadmill users maximum shock absorption. This cushions impact on the ankles, knees, hips and backs which is perfect for those coming off an injury and those trying to prevent one from happening.
Unlike the Bronze Basic, this model comes with heart rate programs.(Heart Zone Monitor, Target HRC, Fat Burn HRC, and Cardio HRC) Also, you'll get 7 workout programs that has 9 levels of intensity for more workout flexibility and variety.
The programmable walk, jog, run keys enable you to easily change your pace with a push of a button. This is perfect for those who love to do interval training on their treadmills.
Warranties
The PaceMaster Silver Select treadmill has a lifetime warranty for its frame, 12 years for the drive motor, 5 years for parts and a year for labor. These warranties are some of the best in its price range. Simply showing just how much the company fully supports their product.
Weakness
The aluminum frame might cause some concerns to hardcore runners. This frame is lighter than steel frames so you might feel that the machine is a little unstable especially during top speeds.
Recommendation
I do recommend the PaceMaster Silver Select treadmill but I suggest you try running on it first. If the light weight feel doesn’t bother you that much then this treadmill is definitely a great buy. But if it does, then you might want to check out the Smooth 7.1HR. It is currently our best buy mid-priced treadmill.
